Laze away the hours bird-watching by day or stargazing by night. Satisfy your natural curiosity on a carriage ride infused with local history, or sing your favorite tunes on an evening hayride. For the more athletic, tennis, swimming and golf are available in our own backyard. Whatever you choose, leisure at Blackberry Farm is as spirited or tame as your mood.

Introduction to harness, hitching, safe driving techniques; includes a drive around the farm. One-Two guests/Allow up to two hours.

Clip-clop down a shady lane and amble through the countryside. Slow your pace of life. Experience scenic vistas and pure mountain streams from the cozy comfort of a horse-drawn carriage. If you are interested, your driver is well-versed in Blackberry history and local lore. Hoofbeats create a rhythm for a beautiful Blackberry memory. Rides by appointment only. Plan on hour or more.

Far from the city lights, Blackberry Farm’s night sky is bursting with celestial sights. Full of harvest moons, lunar eclipses, and constellations galore, the view from the evening veranda can take your breath away. You can simply enjoy the panorama of night sky or pick out specific celestial bodies with our in-house astronomer.

From the porch of your cottage suite, a rocking chair on the Main House veranda or a vantage point on one of our many paths, bird-watching with binoculars is a favorite pastime for our guests. The serene environment of the woodlands and rolling fields provides a natural setting for a wide variety of birds.

Discover a thousand wildflowers throughout Blackberry Farm and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. With miles of trails throughout our 4,200 acres and on into the park, you can find every shape and shade of natural beauty. It is said that the Smoky Mountains has one of the most diverse selection of wildflowers in the world, second only to the rainforest. A perfect place to wander and be amazed!

Our outdoor pool is surrounded by spectacular views of the Great Smoky Mountains and the lawns and meadows of the estate. After an invigorating swim, you can relax in a comfortable chaise lounge or enjoy a snack at a table with a sun umbrella.

Tucked in the hillside just below the Main House and Guesthouse are four hard courts. You’ll always find fresh towels and mountain spring water at courtside, and equipment is available with an advance request. A tennis instructor or hitting partner can be reserved as well.

A leisurely pace is fitting for the tranquil grounds of Blackberry Farm.  Guests can rent electric carts by the hour or day for touring our many paved paths.

Rent a Harley-Davidson and enjoy the scenic back roads of East Tennessee and onto the Dragon's Tail in North Carolina. With the power of the Harley-Davidson motorcycles you can travel to some of the most scenic and legendary biking routes in the world. The renowned Dragon's Tail has over 300 hairpin curves winding through the mountains.

Swing the day away on the nearby greens. Three 18-hole courses are located within 30 minutes of Blackberry Farm, and reservations are made in advance for tee times. Our staff will arrange transportation and other amenities to suit your individual or group preferences.

Complement your outdoor adventure or indoor pampering with a traditional workout. Located on the lower level of Chestnut Cottage, the Fitness Center is always open and features stationary bikes, stair-climbing machines, treadmills and free weights.
