From dried corn stalks to pressed hot apple cider and the smoke from chimneys up and down the cove, all always seems to come together on the spookiest night of the year. It’s a time to learn some mysterious history about the mountains around Millers Cove, and even try your hand at carving a prize- inning jack-o-lantern. This Halloween, gather around the fire for storytelling by one of the area’s respected regionalists, who has plenty of spooky stories from these foothills — and experience all the sights, tastes and smells of a Blackberry Fall as the sun sets on October.
