A Spring Month of Discovery in the Garden

Every year when April rolls around, our gardens are filed with discovery as the season’s new growth springs to life.

April is also the month when we are seeding trays of tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, and other varieties which will be transplanted when the growing season is stable for warm weather crops.

For me, the sense of discovery begins when the first tomatoes and peppers are seeded and the wait for their germination begins. I always look forward to the day when the first seedlings begin to emerge from the soil, signaling that a new growing season is underway.

Seed planting time is always a time of discovery, with each variety having its own required time for seed germination.

Beginning now and on into the fall, there will be the sense of discovery as new seedlings begin their journey to maturity.
