Around the Smokies

This spring marks the 61st Annual Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. From April 26 – May 1st, participants can take part in more than 140 different hikes, lectures and programs that span topics of important wildflowers to salamanders and ferns of the Smokies. This is a largely attended event, so we recommend making reservations early for the event and for Dancing Bear Lodge, which sits 3 miles from the park entrance and close to many of the meeting places or Blackberry Farm. Whether you participate in the pilgrimage or simply visit the area, the end of April beginning of May is the perfect time to see wildflowers and wildlife in the Smoky Mountains.
