Ways to Use Honey Pickled Turnips

Honey and turnips have long been a classic culinary pairing, but it became even more evident to us when we saw the pair come together right here on the farm.  We often use turnips as a cover crop in our gardens, and in the late season the turnips bolt and bloom, and our bees go to the flowers for pollen for their Spring honey making.  So this classic pairing of earthy tanginess and simple sweetness became a farm favorite from the garden and hives to the table.

Apply a helping of Honey Pickled Turnips to a grilled bratwurst or over your pulled pork.

Use it for a topping for your beef stew.

Mix Honey Pickled Turnips into roasted brussel sprouts.

Stuff your roasted chicken with Honey Pickled Turnips.

Top your salad with Honey Pickled Turnips

Try this salad dressing for your salad:
1 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
pinch of salt
pinch of sugar

Dissolve salt and sugar into the vinegar in a small mixing bowl, whisk in the olive oil and toss with some salad greens. This should be enough for 4 salads.
