Andrew Ticer

We recently sat down with Chef Andrew Ticer and asked him five questions to learn more about him. See what his responses were!

What ingredient can you not live without?
Flour. I have to have pasta, and if I have flour, I know that I can figure out a way to have pasta, which is the heart of what we do at Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen.

If you could only cook with one dish what would it be?
Definitely a cast iron skillet.

What is your favorite thing to do when not in the kitchen?
Playing golf. I don't get to do it as much as I'd like anymore, but that's it for me.

Favorite memory in the kitchen?
The professional memory was at the James Beard House the first time. In general though, it's the Sunday family meals from when I was a kid. I have always cherished those memories of my grandmother's house, the men watching football while the women prepared the meal. She always let me taste the sauce on the wooden spoon. I love that memory.

What would you be if you were not a Chef?
Professional race car driver. I don't know how to drive a stick, but
whenever I drive on the interstate, I just feel like I could be really
good at that. Or an aspiring professional golfer. Aspiring because I'm
terrible.
