McKel Hill

We asked McKel Hill of Nutrition Stripped a few questions after her Balanced Life and Body event in June! See what she had to say!

What made you decide to change your way of eating?
I've always been a "healthy" eater, but it wasn't until I started feeling pretty lousy in college going into my nutrition studies, that I decided to take matters into my own hands. I had suffered from migraines that I couldn't shake, digestive issues, and hormonal imbalances- it wasn't until I actively started eating foods from the ground (whole foods), eliminating processed foods/ingredients, cutting out gluten and dairy (for intolerance purposes), and managing my stress levels that everything fell into place! You can also read a little more detail about my story here.

What is your favorite part about Nutrition Stripped?
It's the honest truth, but all of it! My favorite would have to be the recipe development process: making the recipe, styling the food, photographing, and editing. It's a beautiful and very creative process I love.

What is your favorite active activity?
My favorite workouts are ones that I have fun doing and I can foster a strong mind-body connection! My favorites right now are Barre3, Barry's Bootcamp, HIIT circuit training, walking outdoors, hiking...and my new favorite is paddleboarding!

Favorite book you’ve read?
The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle

Favorite piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Be yourself, everyone is already taken. Speaking to living through your authenticity and embracing your uniqueness!

What is your favorite go-to dinner?

Five things we’d find in your bag at any given time?
S'well water bottle, I never leave home without it! Tata Harper lip balm, Roll on fragrance oils from Whole Foods, sunglasses, and my journal for writing when inspiration or recipe ideas strike!

When can we expect to see your next cookbook in the stores?
Early 2016, springtime! You can purchase it from my blog, Amazon, and major book retailers
