Everything - A moss covered tree branch, the guts of a torn apart calculator, the handwritten note on the inside cover of an old book… anything can catch your eye and then be turned into artistic inspiration.

I hope “caring”- that’s my goal

What would you do if you were not in design?

I would convert an old house into a home or school for disadvantaged children (thank you, Jo from Little Women)

What do you “geek out” over?

I’ve always loved lighting plans, but my newer and unexpected nerdy pleasure is number crunching for budgets.

What do you love to do when you're not working?

Spend time exploring outdoors with my two boys.

Hands down, a hope chest that a beloved local cabinet maker made for me from my Dad's old upright piano.

I can find inspiration in just about anything, but my faith, living purposefully, and spending time with those in my inner circle is where I find my richest living.

What would you do if you were not in design?

My husband and I flip houses from time to time. I would love to do that full time if I weren’t in design.

I’ll go anywhere, but Israel and Greece are high on my list.

Food and traveling are my favorite!

What do you love to do when you are not working?

As much as I love to travel, I love being a homebody too! Spending time at home in my pajamas with my husband, cats, takeout, and a good book is my favorite kind of night.

Tile, stone, and wood of all kinds!

Cool colors – greens, blues, purples.

What would you do if you were not in design?

I would be a make-up artist.

Hilarious. I bring smiles and energy in to any room I enter!

I love creating interior architectural lighting designs.

What do you love to do when you are not working?

I love to take drives via backroads and explore small towns.

I love stained and textured concrete because it can be designed to look rustic to contemporary and everything in between.

If you weren't in construction/design, what would you be doing?

I would be a fashion designer for women with curves.

My grandfather made a secretary from a tree that was cut from the farm on which I grew up.

Traveling; seeing other cultures, design, architecture, food, etc. You can grow so much from traveling

What would you do if you were not in design?

I have an interest in the art of living, not just design. I love fashion, photography, beauty, etc. I can see myself doing something that lets me express my creativity in many different ways.

What do you "geek" out over?

Finishing touches! I love art, accessories, books, the things that really make a home come to life.

What do you love to do when you are not working?

I love spending time with my family and yorki-poo (Charley), cooking, traveling, and yoga.

There aren’t many places I don’t want to go, but top of my list are Venice, Italy and Tulum, Mexico.

What is your favorite piece of furniture?

My in-laws gave my husband and me their first dining table for our eat-in-kitchen. I love all the memories they created around the table, and how we continue to create our own.

Depends on the style of the home, but I love plaster, and reclaimed white oak floors.

Most of my career until now has been in the health and fitness industry, and being a mom.

? I’ll go anywhere, but I prefer remote, exotic, road-less traveled locations

The extra hour in the morning to watch the sunrise.

Magazine Designer. I’ve always loved the symmetry & visual forms of art that are used to create the layouts of magazines.

Simplify my life.

What do you love to do when you are not working?

? I truly do love hanging out at home, but getting outside and breathing in the fresh air always renews me.

Favorite building materials?

Natural wood & paint. There is something so warm and inviting about using materials that come from the outside in their natural form. Paint may not be a building material but a fresh coat of paint is always a game changer.

What is your favorite color?

My favorite color is turquoise, but I love warm earthy colors; the color of the leaves in the fall; the orange, gold, and blue colors of sunrises and sunsets.

Dream travel destination?

I actually have 2 at the moment. One is the vineyards of Italy. I love the landscape and architecture of the country. Not to mention the cuisine! The other is Scotland, where I would love to explore the land of my ancestors.

What do you "geek" out over?

Repurposing – I love the idea of taking something old and giving it a new purpose. One of our designer’s took old gardening hand tools and framed them, making a beautiful piece of art. I loved that!!

What do I love to do when I am not working?

I love working in my flower garden! It is small, so I am always looking for ways to get the most impactful design in a “postage stamp” sized area!

Involved in some form of research related to geology, geography, or atmospheric science. I love learning something new.

My mom has a beautiful walnut buffet table in her dining room that we’ve had for longer than I can remember and I just love the details of it. Growing up we also had a kitchen table that’s base was made from a Singer sewing machine and I just love the memories that holds. We’ve kept it so my older sister can put it in her home

What inspires you?

Positive attitudes, kindness and smiles! It’s remarkable what positivity, a kind word or a sincere smile can do for the psyche.

I’m sure it really depends on the day and the situation! But I did pole my team and they said overall, I am encouraging.

Dream travel destination?

I have two, New Zealand/Australia (a combined trip) and the beaches of Tahiti. I could flip a coin and be happy with either, but both are on my bucket list.

What do you love to do when you are not working?

Explore new places… search for waterfalls, hike or 4-wheel in the woods, ride in my jeep (top down) or on my motorcycle taking random roads in the county with no destination point, or simply sit by a fire with a good bottle of cab joined by family and friends… just being outdoors enjoying nature.

Favorite building materials?

Wood and stone elements are my favorites, the closer to natural form the better. However, all building materials used in the proper context can create phenomenal looks and works of art.

Sapphire Blue

What is your favorite piece of furniture?

An early 1800’s Pennsylvania Dutch Cupboard made of solid walnut with original handmade glass which was given to us by my mother-in-law. Not only does it have great family history but fits in beautifully with our more current furniture decor.
