Paddle Sports
Surrounded deep in the beauty of the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, spending time on our many local waterways is one of our favorite ways to spend a spring or summer day. Explore mountain lakes, streams, and wetlands from a canoe, kayak, or standup paddle board while our guides point out the beauty of the local plant and animal life and the 360 degree views of the mountains. Whether it be sitting at the water's level in a kayak or standing on a stable board above it, these watersport experiences are a great family and group experience and a true guest favorite.
These four hour experiences are a favorite May through September, weather pending. Guests should plan to enjoy approximately two hours on the water during these half day activities.
CANOEING
Explore the beauty of our surrounding foothills by taking an amazing journey along a pristine lake in one of our canoes. Let your guide share stories about the local history, flora, fish and wildlife that you will see as you paddle into the wilderness.
KAYAKING
Enjoy a great adventure in the pristine waters of our surrounding lakes, paddling a kayak alongside one of our knowledgeable adventure guides. Kayaking is a more individual experience that also allows you to cover a bit more water as we tour and learn about the creeks and wetlands of our local foothills lakes, all while surrounded in mountain views.
PADDLE BOARDING
A traditional form of surfing, originating from the Hawaiian Islands, paddle boarding is a sport that has grown far beyond the pacific shores. Take in the beauty of our local foothills waterways while standing on these remarkably stable paddle boards. Once there, you will learn how to “SUP” and enjoy a refreshing day on the water. Instead of surfing, we will paddle board on calm waters around islands and creeks, and maybe even take a dip if it gets too hot.
