$35K in Charity Winnings at the Pro-Am Classic

Cyclists attending the Pro-Am Challenge will have the opportunity to win $35,000 in funds for various charities! The winning team recieves $15,000 in award money for the charity of their pro’s choice. In addition, prizes are awarded for the 2nd and 3rd place winners, as well as for best overall time and Pro-Am Most Admired! The Blackberry Farm Foundation is dedicated to giving back to children and foodways related causes, and is excited that another event at Blackberry Farm is going to give riders a chance to push their limits for a good cause!

Ted King leads team to Pro-Am Victory

Former professional cyclist Ted King led his team to victory at the 2018 Pro-Am, winning $15,000 for Krempels Center. Krempels Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people living with brain injury. In partnership with universities and community volunteers, they offer programs that engage their members in meaningful and productive experiences and provide ongoing support and resources to survivors and their families.

Zach Berend wins Point Leader and Most Admired Rider

Cyclist Zach Berend won $5,000 for Operation Walk. Operation Walk is a volunteer medical humanitarian organization that provides the gift of mobility through life-changing joint replacement surgeries at no cost for those in need in the U.S. and globally.

George Hincape wins Second Place Overall

George Hincapie’s Team won $10,000 for Best Buddies International, a nonprofit 501 organization. It consists of volunteers that create opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Alison Tetrick wins Third Place Overall

Alison Tetrick’s team won $5,000 for Little Bellas. Little Bellas is a mountain bike organization for girls ages 7 to 16 whose goal is to help young women realize their potential through cycling.
