Whether your riding style is to maintain a consistent pace or attack at certain points, pace yourself and listen to your body. We’ll see you on the road!
1. Wear layers. The weather in Tennessee is unpredictable, and the temperature can change 20 to 30 degrees during the ride.
2. Strategize King of the Mountain. Rely on the expertise of your team’s Pro. They’ve seen you ride and can give you insight, coaching and motivation.
3. Save energy for the last push. The last climb is a long one!
4. Have a climbing cassette. A climbing cassette with a broader range of gears will allow you to spin through the tough areas.
5. When climbing steep roads, swing wide on a switchback.The road levels out at the double line - stay towards middle of road the gradient stays more consistent. Takes longer but will ultimately save you energy.
