Offerings

  • On-Property Bird Watching

A great year-round activity, the sparse foliage of the Winter months allows better views of birds in their habitats. Birdwatching is a good way to get outside and enjoy nature. Blackberry Farm is naturally an incredible birding environment with multiple habitats of forests, fields, fence row, ponds and creeks.

    • 1-2 hours

    • Ages 6 and up, minors must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Off-Property Bird Watching

Join your naturalist guide on an extended foray to one of the best birding destinations in the Southeast–Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park or Seven Islands State Birding Park, the newest State Park in Tennessee. Your guide will supply you with binoculars, a field bag and a checklist to outfit you as you hike in the park in search of some of nature's most beautiful creatures. If desired, add a picnic lunch along the way for a cozy treat in the great outdoors.

    • 3-4 hours

    • Ages 6 and up, minors must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Photo Scavenger Hunt

Stroll the property self-guided or with the help of one of our expert guides, and with a Polaroid camera in hand you’ll discover hidden treasures throughout Blackberry’s beautiful grounds.

We offer three unique experiences for you to choose your own journey. Take your pick between discovering the wonders of nature on our immersive outdoor scavenger hunt, learning the history of Blackberry Farm's property through the lens of a camera or wandering through the Garden and Farmstead as you reveal the bounty of the Farm.

    • 1-1.5 hours

    • This can be booked as a guided or self-guided activity.

    • All ages, minors must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Geocaching: Tree Treasures

Tree Treasures provides a fun, family-friendly activity that will give everyone a closer look at the trees that make up our forest. You will get to explore the canopy of Southern Appalachia from below as you trek through the forest on Blackberry Farm's own Walker Mountain trail. This course is designed to enrich the minds of our guests by prompting them to interact with the forest and learn about the habitat of our native trees. With a GPS in hand, follow the coordinates and find hidden doors at the base of eight trees along the trail. Each door is marked with a letter, which will be unscrambled to solve a riddle at the end.

    • 1.5 hours

    • Moderate difficulty as it includes a one-mile hike. Activity is booked with a guide.

    • All ages, minors must be accompanied by an adult.

We are always delighted to answer any questions you may have regarding your upcoming stay.
