(Walland, TN; March 16, 2021) The Blackberry Farm Foundation shared its 2021 grant recipients, totaling more than $137,000 in donations for charities in Blount County. Alongside its continued support of Great Smoky Mountain Institute at Tremont, Smoky Mountain Heritage Center and Walland Elementary, this year’s recipients include Boys & Girls Club of Blount County, New Hope Children’s Advocacy Center, Pellissippi State Culinary Center, Special Grower’s, MLK Center of Alcoa, and William Blount High School Culinary Department.

“It is a privilege to continue supporting local programs and initiatives in Blount County,” says Blackberry Proprietor Mary Celeste Beall. “From updating kitchen items at William Blount High School to supporting the ongoing development at New Hope Children’s Advocacy Center, it is important to us to maintain our commitment to incredible organizations that make a lasting impact on this community.”

Blackberry Farm Foundation grants concentrate on charitable organizations that provide services, education and support for children and foodways-related causes. Since the opening of Blackberry Mountain in 2019, the foundation has continued to grow its charitable outreach to include organizations that provide educational opportunities for children around art, conservation and environmental sciences.

Through the Blackberry Farm Foundation, the Blackberry family of brands has donated more than $1.9 million to local charities over the last decade, including its 2021 gifts totaling $137,000.

“The charitable impact of the Blackberry Farm Foundation would not be possible without the generosity of our guests, the work of the Blackberry team and the great relationships we have with the community organizations we work with,” said Blackberry President Matt Alexander. “It is our hope that the ongoing efforts of the foundation contribute to and elevate the important work these community groups are championing and ultimately strengthen the outreach for education, development and safety within our community.”
