(Walland, TN; January 25, 2022) The Blackberry Farm Foundation announced its 2022 grant recipients, donating more than $170,000 to charities in Blount County. Maintaining its past support of Great Smoky Mountains Institute of Tremont, Smoky Mountain Heritage Center, Boys & Girls Club of Blount County, New Hope Children’s Advocacy Center, Pellissippi State of Blount County Culinary Center, Special Growers/Special Opps, Inc. and William Blount High School, this year a grant was also given to the Heritage High School Agriculture Department.

“We are privileged to be able to offer our support to these incredible programs and hardworking advocates in Blount County,” says Blackberry Proprietor Mary Celeste Beall. “We can see the lasting impact each of these organizations has on our community, and we want the education, support and community wellbeing that they provide to be available for generations to come.”

The Blackberry Farm Foundation grants are given to Blount County-local charitable organizations that focus their services on children and foodways-related causes. Through the efforts of the foundation, the Blackberry family of brands has donated more than $2 million to local charities over the last decade, including its 2022 gifts totaling $174,000.

“The heart of hospitality is acting in service to others. We’re proud to support local organizations who dedicate themselves to serving this community and championing their missions of outreach, education and care,” said Blackberry President Matt Alexander. “With the generosity and passion of our guests, team and community partners that fuels the foundation’s efforts, we’re proud to continue supporting worthy causes in Blount County.”
