“Blackberry Gives” collects more than 1,600 pounds of food for Second Harvest Food Bank

As a team initiative, “Blackberry Gives” encourages employees across the Blackberry family of brands to give back to the community through team participation in service hours, need collection and volunteering. This past February, Blackberry team members collected more than 770 pounds of food to give to Second Harvest Food Bank. Blackberry matched the team’s effort, bringing the total to 1,600 pounds of food, resulting in more than 1,400 meals for East Tennessee families in need.

“Taking care of people is at the heart of the hospitality industry. The Blackberry team embodies that spirit wholeheartedly and continues to step up for our community and each other,” said Matt Alexander, President of Blackberry Farm. “While our team has been volunteering and giving back to the community for decades, Blackberry Gives helps center the efforts and messaging, allowing us to fully see the impact of the Blackberry team on Blount County. This is just the beginning for this initiative, and I am certainly proud of the team.”

Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee distributes meals to 134,000 children, adults and seniors each month across 18 counties.
