Blackberry Farm Foundation Donates More than $170,000 in 2019

(Walland, TN; January 28, 2019) - The Blackberry Farm Foundation announced its 2019 grant recipients totaling $170,000 in gifts towards charities in Blount County. This year’s recipients include Heritage High School, Smoky Mountain Heritage Center, New Hope Children’s Advocacy Center, Tremont Institute, Walland Elementary, Boys & Girls Club of Blount County, Harmony Family Center and Special Opps, Inc.

"We’ve always had a focus on local charities in regards to giving,” says Blackberry Farm Proprietor Mary Celeste Beall. “This year is really special to see all of the Blackberry Farm Foundation grant recipients are all within Blount County. From an updated culinary classroom for Heritage High School to educational programming at the Smoky Mountain Heritage Center and the Tremont Institute, we are excited to support programs that help deepen the knowledge and love for programs and topics we are so passionate about.

Blackberry Farm Foundation grants focus on charitable organizations that provide services, education and support for children and foodways related causes. With the opening of the Beall Family’s newest resort Blackberry Mountain, the Foundation expanded its giving to programs that provided educational opportunities around conservation and environmental sciences.

Blackberry Farm and The Blackberry Farm Foundation has donated more than 1. 7 million to local charities over the last decade including its most recent gifts totaling $170,000.
